Language translation provide the opportunity to convert a document from its source language to other languages. Translation may be needed for legal documentation that needs to be filed with a court system. The courts will need the document in a certain language and in a certain format in order for it to be filed correctly. Medical information may need to be sent across certain borders, and the language for delivery may not be the original language. Financial statements are read by business officials that may not be from the same countries. A document may need to be translated for an arriving dignitary. Marketing brochures may travel to destinations that are overseas, and these brochures will need to be translated.

APPLICATIONS FOR LANGUAGE TRANSLATION

Different applications for language translation may include a contract for an architecture or construction project. If this is a project that is overseas, then the use of translators will be critical. The following may be a scenario for a construction project that may span across several continents:

1. A developer in one European country is interested in completing a construction and architecture project. The building will take place in a different country from the one that originated the construction. The architect on the project is from a third European country with a separate language barrier. The local government in the country where the project is being constructed needs the original building documents sent to them in one language.

2. The developer will need to send the next set of documents on to the architect in order for the building to begin. At each stage of this construction, the documents will need to be filed in one country, and the architect will need the instructions in a separate language.

3. Translators will need to take each step of this building project and translate the documents into the appropriate languages. The circumstances are requiring that the translations be completed. If an interpreter is needed, then this would be a separate service. Interpretation would be needed for a conference call or a group meeting of those involved.

OTHER APPLICATIONS

In other instances, a translator may be critical. Large industrial projects require an involvement of several international professionals. These professionals may include engineers and surveyors. There may be a need for translation assistance with an audio or video recording. Evidence for courts will need to be translated. Sales presentations will require that everyone understand the documents in front of them.

OUTSOURCING

Outsourcing is frequently used for many industries. There may be outsourcing of legal services to companies that are many continents away. The documents will need to be translated for the work to be completed correctly. The finished products may need to be translated back into the original language for the document developers to use them.

There is a trend for design information to be translated into a native language or into a universal language such as English. Later the document may need to be translated back into the original language.

LANGUAGE FORMATS

Some applications may need a document translated into two languages. This request is often called a dual-language format. Some translations may need to be time-coded for a television or film application.

CONCLUSION

A translation may be interpreted into any of the worlds languages, but more commonly a list of less that 100 languages. The requirements for translation exist in every instance where communication takes place. This includes translations for architects, construction companies and developers.
