Baluchi Language Facts
Baluchi has approximately 7 million speakers and is mostly found in Pakistan, Iran and Afghanistan.
The Baluchi language was not written until the 19th century, where it was commenced with the Latin alphabet using a spelling system created by British linguists. After Pakistan’s independence, the Perso-Arabic script was adopted.
Baluchi is also known as Balochi Baloci or Baluci.
It has two main dialects: Eastern and Western (main dialect for use in Baluchi literature).
