Pomodori ripieni al riso (Rice stuffed tomatoes).

Today's Italian Translation will be of the recipe 'Pomodori ripieni al riso', a versatile and popular Italian dish. English Translation
Ingredients for 4 people
4 tomatoes
6 spoonfuls of boiled rice
parsley
a few basil leaves
1 clove of garlic
extra-virgin olive oil
salt

  1. Wash the tomatoes and cut the tops off. Scoop out the pulp with a spoon and put aside. Sprinkle the inside of the tomatoes with salt.
  2. Clean, wash and dry the parsley and the basil and chop finely together with garlic. Then put in a bowl together with the rice, the sifted tomato pulp and 2 spoonfuls of oil. Then stir accurately with a wooden spoon. Stuff the tomatoes up to the rim with the mixture and then replace the tops by applying a little pressure.
  3. Grease a baking tray with oil, place the tomatoes and season with oil and salt. Bake in a pre-heated oven at 180 °C for about 30 minutes, please on a serving dish and serve very hot or warm.

  1. Lavate i pomodori e rimuovete la calotta superiore. Estraete la polpa con l’aiuto di un cucchiaio e mettete da parte. Quindi cospargete di sale l’interno dei pomodori.
  2. Mondate, lavate ed asciugate il prezzemolo ed il basilico e tritateli insieme con l’aglio. Quindi metteteli in una terrina con il riso, la polpa di pomodoro setacciata e 2 cucchiai d’olio. Mescolate con cura servendovi di un cucchiaio di legno. Riempite i pomodori fino al bordo con il composto e ricopriteli con la loro calotta, esercitando una leggera pressione.
  3. Ungete una pirofila con l’olio, sistematevi i pomodori e condite con olio e sale. Cuocete in forno già caldo a 180 °C per circa 30 minuti, trasferite su un piatto di portata e servite caldissimi o tiepidi.
